Caroline H. Cox link is Assistant Professor of History at the University of the Pacific. Educated at University of California Berkeley.her publications include: A Proper Sense of Honor: Service and Sacrifice in George Washington’s Army (Chapel Hill: University of North Carolina Press, 2004)), Opening Up North America, 1497-1800, co-authored with Ken Albala, Discovery and Exploration Series, (Forthcoming,Spring 2005) and "Invisible Wounds: The American Legion, Shell Shocked Veterans, and Mental Illness, 1919-1924." In Traumatic Pasts: Studies in History, Psychiatry, and Trauma in the Modern Age, 1860-1930, eds. Mark Micale and Paul Lerner. Cambridge University Press, 2001.

The Papers of George Washington: a grant-funded project, established in 1969 at the University of Virginia, to publish a complete edition of Washington's correspondence. Included are transcripts of: Rules of Civility & Decent Behaviour In Company and Conversation and Last Will & Testament of George Washington. In addition, there are educational resources for use in the classroom including George's School Days: The Rules of Civility.
