The Triangle of Trade was a
terrible economic system that
killed many people, made people
miserable and made people wealthy.
The ships in the Triangle of
Trade traded commodities like
slaves, guns, cotton, gold,
cloth, cod, sugar, molasses,
iron, wood and other items.
The different places that the
ships would go to are England,
West Indies, Africa and America.
The triangle usually started
at America with cotton and tobacco
then went to England and got
guns and cloth, from there the
ship went to Africa for slaves,
and returned to America. The
people who won are traders,
plantation owners and the Europeans.

The Triangle Trade was a system
of economic trade, horror, deadly
trips, kidnapping, unjust actions,
and greed. Africans are tied
into this because they were
hard workers, and some already
enslaved. The European slave
traders kidnapped kids, babies,
adults, and seniors for money.
The traders benefited most and
the slaves didn’t benefit
at all. The Triangle Trade was
really bad.

The Triangle Trade was a horrible
system for the slaves. Mostly
all the slaves originated in
Africa. They were exchanged
for commodities. England came
down to Africa and traded clothes
and guns for as many slaves
they could fit on their ships.
Then, the English went to the
West Indies and traded slaves
for cotton, molasses and indigo.
The English went back to England
and made guns and clothes. The
Triangle Trade was an Evil economic
system.

The triangle trade was an economic
system that included slaves
as a commodity. The Africans
became commodities and got traded
to guns and rum. After they
were traded they rode into the
middle passage. Things like
cloth, cotton, rum and guns,
etc. were traded for the Africans.
The triangle trade worked because
the people who had power got
rich (like Europeans). That’s
how the slaves got into the
triangle trade.
Lea
The Triangle Trade was an economic
system made up of commodities
like cotton, indigo, slaves,
cloth, gold and those were only
some of the commodities. Slaves
became a part of the Triangle
Trade in 1629 when the first
men came to Jamestown. Fifty
years passed and slavery became
a law. As the colonies grew
the desire for slaves grew too.
This Economic system worked
out because the slave traders
and merchants piled up cloth
and cotton and went down to
Africa and traded the cloth
and cotton for the slaves. Then
they would get money for the
slaves when they went back to
Boston, so the slave traders
and merchants gained the most
and of course the slaves lost
the most, their freedom.
Francie
The triangle of trade, you were
either successful and rich or
death worthy. Merchants would
get slaves from Africa and sell
them and get money. But the
slaves would feel terrible and
miserable getting stolen young
or old, they lost trace of any
hope. The merchants then took
the slaves and traded them and
went back, then did this all
over again for more than a century.
This was a good economic business
because the slave traders got
rich, and the plantation owners
got rich and virtually free
labor, but the Africans lost
lives, homes, families, freedom
and hope.

A Slaves Point of View
A while back there was an economic
system called “Triangle
of Trade”. It was an exchange
of good and human beings. These
things were called commodities.
Different commodities were transported
to other continents. Some of
the commodities include sugar,
molasses, gold, indigo, cloth,
fur, guns, cotton, rum, lumber,
and also…slaves. These
slaves were Africans. Africans
were chosen for this hard labor
because of the strong workers
that they were. They were soon
working in hot fields and plantations.
Africans were also working in
other places, South America,
North America, and Europe. They
took long voyages across oceans
and seas. Individuals got filthy
rich during the trade, first
the kidnappers and traders,
then the merchants, and next
the plantation owners. The Africans
lost a lot though. That is how
the Africans got involved in
the Triangle of Trade.

The Triangle of Trade was a
terrible part of history. It
was a part of an economic trading
system and unfortunately some
of the commodities were actually
human beings, Africans. Africans
became part of the triangle
trade because the Americans
had tried to have Indians to
work in the plantations, but
they were too fragile, so they
decided to try Africans. The
Americans needed free slaves
to work on their plantation
fields. One of the most depressing
parts of the triangle trade
is that the Americans and Europeans
would kidnap children from their
home and then get free labor
out of it.
