Edith Gelles link is a Senior Scholar at the Clayman Institute for Gender Research, Stanford University and the author of the recently published Abigail and John: Portrait of a Marriage (2009). She has also written Portia: The World of Abigail Adams (1992), Abigail Adams: A Writing Life (1998)) and The Letters of Abigaill Levy Franks, 1733-1748 (2004 ). She is a well-known historian of colonial America.
